It all starts with God.  Inspiration  comes from Him.  It is the taking in of life, and God is that life.  God is Creating Inspiration all the time; everywhere.  The purpose of my business (Creating Inspiration) is not to make me feel more fulfilled in life.  The purpose of Creating Inspiration is to give glory to God by fulfilling The Great Commission.  Our commission is to bring people into God's kingdom. 

Lots of people are still searching for their purpose in life, and still can't find it.  I found it when I stopped thinking of "ME" first.  The only thing that focusing on ourselves will accomplish is  spiritual death.  The more we go "inward" the smaller our world becomes; the smaller we become.  Now I ask myself "what do other people want, or how can I help other people be what God wants them to be?  Artists are always trying to get inspiration, or remove a block to creativity.  The answer is so simple.  Breath in God's Spirit (by reading His  Word) and do what it says to do.  Think of others first.  Finding out how we can help other people dissolves any kind of block to creativity that we may encounter.  We put ourselves in a position to be used by God.

I like putting scripture verses on my portrait commissions to give people reminders of God's love for them.  And remind them that God wants to be able to use them in His kingdom too.  I teach art to encourage adults to see life through a childlike vision.  We are supposed to have the kind of faith that a little child has.  But, as we grow up/get older, we sometimes begin to believe the lies of God's enemy.  Some people are trained to believe they don't have a creative bone in their body.  That definitely is a lie!  We were made in the image of The Creator, so everyone is capable of creating something.  One of my jobs is to help people forget past insults and rewrite their future.

When I stand before God on the last day, I hope I can honestly say that I used all that He gave me for His purposes.
